My maternal story...

yest i was alone w my mum at hm. told her of e stupid 5-day break of NUS n tat i'll need half a yr more than NTU peers 2grad w an honours... unfair rite? nw then i knw, so tinkg if can drop sch. anyway they haven deduct sch fees yet.

well, it was yest tat i found out e reason 4my mum's 'obsession' tat gals MUST b v powerful... in e sense tat they mus b well-educated n hold an active role in society... (i.e. work even after marriage n even if ur husband can support u, always 2depend on ourselves)
i used 2tink tat its coz my mum's elders v zhong4 nan2 qing1 nu3. actually its more than jus tat...
after e 2hr chat yest, my mum told me abt her extended family-- it was abt e differences between e rich n poor (as in e brides' family background), whether e bride is educated, e grooms' family background (wat kind of groom u shldnt choose)... althou i still tink there r otherwise... tink its still v difficult 2change her mindset, coz its been her experience since young.
